Alliant Energy customers could see energy bill increases

MADISON, Wis. -

The cost of electric bills could be going up, according to a request from Alliant Energy.

The company filed its fuel cost plan Tuesday with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, which includes a 1.9 percent increase in retail electric rates.

For the average customer, it means about an extra $1.14 a month for the 2014 calendar year.

The plan is expected to get PSCW's approval by the end of the year.
